Sometimes when I go to the Contents view in my GoPro 7 silver (firmware 2.0) the camera froze.
The only way to use it is to reset the camera by pressing the start button for many seconds.
Is there a way to solve this problem?
I tried to reinstall the firmware manually by copy the update.zip contents on the root of the SD, but at the start of the camera, it doesn't see the update.

Thanks, I can confirm that copying the entire "FOLDER" on the SD root, the update process starts on my Gopro Hero 7 Silver.
Now camera seems more fast and reactive: I hope it was a good solution for the topic subject too ;)

You need to extract the UPDATE folder from the UPDATE,zip file on your computer first. Once you've done this, do a full format (not quick) of your SD card in the computer and then copy over the UPDATE folder (not UPDATE.zip).
BTW, what SD card are you using? I've found the the Samsung Evo Select 64.& 32 GB cards work best in the HERO7 White/Silver. DO NOT USE SanDisk Ultra.

Thanks, danielr15 for your suggestions.
I formatted my SD (a SanDisk Extreme), I put on root all the contents of update.zip.
I moved my SD on my GoPro and boot it: nothing, it starts as usual, without an upgrade notification / request.

Thanks for the update, @merlinox. If the camera does not initiate the update it can be because the camera is not recognizing the update on the SD card. I do also have some suggestions here that should help get the update working as well.
- Make sure the UPDATE folder is unzipped/extracted, before placing it on the SD card. If the folder is compressed, the camera will not be able to read it;
- Ensure the UPDATE folder does not have any additional characters in the folder title, i.e. "UPDATE (1)". The camera will only recognize a folder titled "UPDATE", in upper case letters with no additional characters;
- Be sure to place the entire UPDATE folder on the root level of the SD card.
In addition to this, you can also try to format the SD card through your computer before placing the update folder/files onto the root of the card. **NOTE: Formatting will delete all the contents in your SD card. Ensure to backup your files first before going through the format process.
Hopefully this helps!

Thanks aenriquez for you useful reply.
I think in the Gopro italian instruction page there's a big bug.
This is the phrase:
Spostare i file contenuti nella cartella UPDATE nella scheda microSD chiamata "SENZA NOME".
In english it's:
Move the UPDATE folder contents into the microSD called "SENZA NOME".
In your reply you wrote it needs to move the entire folder "Update", not only its contents.

I found the original english guide too:
Drag the files inside the UPDATE folder to your microSD card labeled 'NO NAME'.
Be sure to move the files inside of the UPDATE folder to the root level of the microSD card only. Do not move the UPDATE folder itself.
What do you understand?
