broken side cover, memory card error and shoddy 3-way, battery drains in split-second

Hi, I bought a GoPro 5 Black a little over a month ago and I've had nothing else but problems with it ever since. First I discovered the 3-way's connecting section does not align correctly so there is a lot of friction and it is very tight when I want to open/close. Then I keep getting SD Card ERR messages, and I've now tried two SD cards, still not working, I've just bought a third one - will see. Then, to add to the list of problems, my side cover flap has just broken off!

 

I can't believe this! I bought this GoPro because my cousin was singing its praises yet I've had nothing else but problems with it!

 

Now I cannot even return it because I am over the 30-day return limit by four days. I bought it in the Black Friday Sales, left it in the box as I didn't need it but now I am back from my first holiday and everything has gone wrong. At least the footage I managed to record is now safe on my computer.

 

Also, the battery runs out in a split second, even though I have everything now on minimal settings to save battery. I must say I am pretty disappointed with this, if I could I would definitely return it and request a refund.

For the SD errors, which maker and model cards have you tried? SD ERR codes and fast battery drain are both signs that the SD card is not compatible with the camera you're using. A list of compatible cards can be found at https://gopro.com/help/articles/Block/microSD-Card-Considerations.

call gopro you should be able to exchange or refund out if gopro allows  three goildays do not count but worth  that shot.
