battery error

Got a new Hero 8 and 2 extra batteries (Hero 8 batteries with the blue bottom from the GoPro website).

Every 3 or 4 times turning it on, I get a message saying certain features wont work without an official Hero 8 battery.

Do I have a bad battery?

Is there a software problem?

Is it a camera problem?

The blue batteries should be the right ones if you ordered them from us. It sounds like the camera may not be recognizing the batteries as HERO8 batteries. Try doing a manual update on the camera just to see if that's the issue. Instructions on how to do a manual update are at https://gopro.com/en/us/update/hero8-black
