Re: Won't shut down after firmware update v1.7
[ New ]Hello @droidcam. By any chance, are you getting any error message when you connect your camera to the computer/notebook? If you have installed Quik for desktop, does it ever launch? There are troubleshooting steps here that you can try.
How does it go with the app? See if resetting the connections according to the steps here https://gopro.com/help/articles/solutions_troubleshooting/GoPro-App-Camera-Connection-Troubleshootin... clears the issue. Let us know how it works out. Best regards!

Re: Won't shut down after firmware update v1.7
[ New ]Nope no error msg nothing... if I take our SD & plug in via adapter Quik will launch other than that no response if direct connect or via direct wifi mobile or notebook. This is very odd as previosuly before v1.7 update can connect. The previous firmware was fine with me & didn't cause issue. Can Gopro please release an update over v1.7 as it's really buggy it over heats now when I'm shotting 4K. Previous firmware was ok.

Re: Won't shut down after firmware update v1.7
[ New ]It is odd, indeed. We tested with HERO7 Black units here but we are not able to replicate the issue. We even re-flashed firmware just to see if there have been changes with the update files but our cameras here are still able to be recognized as USB devices when connected to a computer, and are able to pair with mobile devices via GoPro App. There is one more information that we would like to get from you, if you wouldn't mind. This is just to add details to what we already know. Try checking the contents of the TXT file inside the MISC folder on your SD card. You can access this when you have your SD card directly connected to your computer. Please verify if the TXT file gives you information about the camera such as serial number or version details. Thanks!
We do not have information about a new firmware but we have passed this issue along to the team. We will surely keep this thread updated once we have new information. Thanks!

Re: Won't shut down after firmware update v1.7
[ New ]Any update of this? I still can't connect USB to notebook even though my other gadgets all can connect to the same usb port & cable.
Still same sometimes cam won't shut down after pressing power button & red led came on. After it goes off screen still on. I disabled all wifi voice gps etc to try still same issue. Sometimes it powers down but when I on back after 1 day the battery is drained. Really regreat updating to v1.7 everything was fine before the update.
