Does anyone have any info, rumours, if the next generation HERO8 will go back to having the simultaneous PHOTO+VIDEO funtion?
I have read all the previous froum topics, I know you can film in 4k and then print screenshots, but in some cases this just doesn't wotk!
Some professionals who work as guides, etc... and offer photos and videos to their client just don't have the time or gear on the field to do all that post processing.
For instance: I work as a tandem paragliding pilot, up to the gopro5 we just clicked one button before take off, and once we landed all the images were there, ready to be delivered to the client. We transfer them over OTG cable to the clients mobile phone, or simply hand them the SDCard used during the flight. I can't help wondering how many thousands of outdoor professionals: hikers, pilots, scuba divers, skydivers, etc... are suffering with the same issue... at my flight club alone we are 120 professional pilots and absolutely none of us has bought the HERO 6 or 7, as matter of facts where I live demand for the whatever HERO 5 cameras wich ar still in stock is so high that it actually costs about U$100 more the "more advanced?" HERO 6...
When I need a new camera, if I don't find any HERO 5 vailable on the market I will have to switch over to other brands, I simply have no other choice. This is an ABSOLUT DEAL BRAKER... :(

I appreciate the inputs. We currently do not have any information about new camera coming out. I suggest checking out the website from time to time or subscribing to our newsletter to stay up-to-date.

new release GoPro's are normally done in October, so not that far away. As said tho, I have to agree I can't see them going back to an old chip or bringing back the old photo/video. I did use it originally but being limited to 1080 video made it useless for me on the drone once I started editing the clips properly
