Why does Gopro believe that watching what's taking place in front of the camera is unimportant?

Automatic screen dimming not being able to be disabled on the Hero 7 Black makes being able to properly frame what you are shooting impossible or difficult in many situations out of doors. It's an annoyance, like flying VFR with a 100 foot ceiling.

The GoPro screen stays "Awake" long enough to frame a shot.  They probably expect people to be looking at what's happening and not staring at a tiny screen on the back of their camera for 60 minutes.  You can always use the app and use a live feed from the camera if for some reason you need to watch what you're recording.
