Why did my go pro hero 5 session wont turn back on? Its hot.

I looked it up and followed all of the steps to get it working again and I am still getting no response. It seems like it might have overheated, I tried to cool it down, but nothing helped. I only bought the camera a day ago (01/14/2017) and it just shut off.

Return it get a new one, don't bother trying to figure it out,  and if the new one is trouble free thank me later

@bluebluff5858 - Overheating can sometimes be linked to a non-compatible SD card. What card are you using?

Before you give up on it and return it, please reach out to our Support team at https://gopro.com/help/PKBContactus. If the issue is something like a bad SD card, changing out the camera won't fix the issue. You'll have the same issue with any camera that card goes into. In most cases, the fix is a simple correction that our team can troubleshoot with you.

The guy who helped us at Best Buy gave us a SanDisk extreme plus 32 gb microsd. The camera has had about 2 and a half hours to cool down. If this is the right kind of SD card I think I will return it.

your camera most likly has another issue  besides the over heated battery, you can simply put the Session into the FREEZER  5 minutes will do, and then simply  like said press and hold the back button down for a long count .    the camera will come back to life, then  you can reflash with new firmwre but Let me tell you thins, mine went back for the reason of over heated and otehr issues gopro could not explain.

If you got this new, and you are going t otalk to  Support, by the time they work this out you are best to return it at bestbuy.  then wait for an email 3 days later, gopro got their  hands  full.  

I been there and done that. you are within your return period, use it, you have the option for a care pkg, get it,gopro offers a year extra than gopro here. 

But if you are  finished with gopro, we can not blame you, they are not like they used to be and I hate sounding that way, I hate seeing people get burned.
