What SD card are you using?
See if resetting the camera to its factory settings will sort out the issue.
Should it still be the same, please proceed with a manual software update through https://gopro.com/update/hero5

I picked up SD card PN# SDSDQXL-032G-A46A shown on the list and I still get the white static.
Here is the video with the new card.
What should I try next?
