When new firmware update to hero 5 black?

Hi, I just used few times my brand new gopro 5 black and I've got some observations... Before that, I had gopro 4 black.. What's wrong with 5 black?

1. Sound - I tried many configurations - auto audio/manual audio control - every time, sound is noisy, even I was in totally quiet room - there's so noisy sound on video clip - I asked some people on FB groups about that and they said the same problem...

2. Timelapse mode RAW - when I start doing timelapse with RAW mode, just first photo is in RAW, next photos are in JPGs...

3. Stabilization in 4K - is it possible to unlock stabilization in 4K?

4. Waterproof - you said that gopro 5 black is waterproof to 10 m - I'm worry to put camera just 10 cm underwater, I'm not sure about this waterproofnes... I open and close battery/usb slot very carefully and still not sure about safety of that...  So many flooded cameras of people :/ What about warranty? How you are looking for this when water will came into camera?

Thanks for response!

Re: When new firmware update to hero 5 black?

@mateuszt442 - Thanks for the feedback. Here are some thoughts on your points...

1. What kind of noise are you hearing? Can you post a sample clip? When we've seen these in the past, we've been able to explain most of the background sound as HVAC or other white noise that the mics are picking up. I did an experiment on this myself where I was able to isolate the camera in a near-silent environment (under some towels) and when there's no sound to pick up, the sound goes down pretty close to zero - meaning the cameras aren't generating significant noise, but are simply sensitive enough to pick up background noises in the room that are there. You can see that post here: https://community.gopro.com/t5/Cameras/GoPro-Hero-5-Black-Static-Noise-Sound/m-p/40761/highlight/tru...

2. We just tested this here in the office and we think we found what's happening. If you import from the camera using the USB-C, we did see that just the first image came through as a raw format. That image and the others were there as jpgs. If you import directly from the SD card using Finder, the raw files and the jpgs are on the SD and can be imported. We'll alert the team that there is an error preventing all of the raw files to import when using the USB-C. Thanks.

3. Stabilization needs a little space on the edges of the frame to create a final stabilized image. Because of that, we can't keep the slightly smaller stabilized image in 4K.

4. The HERO5 cameras are waterproof to 10m. The key is to make sure that the seals on the doors are in place and are clean, and that the doors are firmly locked and stay locked during use. Our Support team will investigate any reports of water damage if they occur. Water damage in general is not covered by our warranty unless there is a defect with the specific camera that we can identify that allowed water to enter.

Thanks,

Jeff
