hello! Been reading on the net about this and it is a mixed reaction. Some say that they deplete faster than the original GoPro battery and some have fantastic result. I'm also concerned that it might damage the unit? or perhaps when goPro update their firmware, it will not detect the battery?
Is it really worth it to purchase these cheapo batteries on a $400 unit? I'm specifically looking at this Smatree Battery >> https://www.amazon.co.uk/Smatree-Battery-3-Channel-Compatible-Firmware-2x-Batteries-Charger/dp/B01N2...
What do you think?

The official batteries are cheap.
I don't think it's worth saving a few bucks to have a non-offical battery, especially if GoPro ever decides to kill our ability to use 3rd-party with a firmware update (They have done that in the past).

I would not go near a third party battery. My experience in the past has shown these cheapo batteries cost much more in the long run because they simply do not last. Stick to GoPro original equipment.
