So i'm a bit concerned. Maybe someone else can ease my mind. I just recently ordered a new hero 7 black. well today my recently purchased used hero 5 leaked. after doing some digging it seems that there's a long list of individuals with this same problem. my main concern is if my new one leaks and gopro clearly states that they won't cover leakage do i need to go ahead a purchase the water proof case just to make sure? i realize the used hero 5 was subject to defects from the get go but almost every single picture advertised on the hero 7 and other cameras are pictures of the cameras going into water. you would think gopro would at least do some sore of investigation on your camera to determine whether the leak came from a manufacturer defect or if it was a user error. just figured i'd get some input from some seasoned gopro people. i'm still new to the gopro world. Thanks in advance.

So long as all camera doors are closed, the HERO7 Black is waterproof down to 10m (33ft) without a housing.
While water damage is usually not covered by the warranty, in the even that this happens yo your camera, let our Support Team take a look at what happened.
