Yes I totally agree. If I were to use mine in water more often I taken the care pkg or otehr pkg so I can protect my investment. Gopro may have been very smart about this knowing that the Hero 5 will leak. and those of us who were not smart enough.. well there you go.
Happy to hear you are getting it replaced. hope the new onewas tested, highly doubt it, be careful. get a suit .

Hello, just as an information, I began this post in January 24 and sent my first e-mail to GoPro support on Jan 25th. Finally on Jan 31st GoPro accepted to send me a new camera due to the issue with water getting into my camera. Today is March 13th and I still haven´t received the number or code from UPS to send in my camera for replacement. I have the RMA but still no code from UPS. I know I live in Brazil and that costs are higher to ship in products, but its been almost two months and nothing. I have replied to GoPro support and they have been polite enough to say that it is an issue with... who knows? UPS???? Well its been almost two months and nothing. I just wanted to share this with you all. If I am getting the nwe camera... I don´t know.
