Water inside the small screen + doesn’t turn off

Hello GoPro Community,
So today I swam with my my gopro and when I came home, I noticed a lil water inside the small screen! After that, I. still managed to transfer all my photos thatbI captured but then after I turned off and took off & on the battery, it stopped working!! From now It won’t turn on... I put in to bowl of rice lol...

Good to hear that the files are fine.

It's not really ideal to put the camera in rice if it was used with salt water. As salt residues builds up.

While water damaged cameras are usually not covered by the standard warranty, we still want to look into what happened. Please coordinate with our Support Team regarding this.

As each incident is treated uniquely, they may ask you for pictures of the camera and/or mount that was used and other additional information to help us determine what we can do to extend our help.

I used their new product Sleeve + Lanyard on my GoPro Hero 5 Black. I’ll try to contact them on Monday because weekends chat is closed. There’s another problem, I bought this gopro last year even though doesn’t have 1 year of use yet and I think I don’t have the receipt anymore.

So today I tried again and it starts working! But the front small screen ain’t showing anything! Besides that everything is fine.

Good to now that the camera is working, @bumanglag . Although that is the case, it would still be best to get in touch with Support. We do not want you to not be able to maximize the features and functions of your camera by not getting the front display screen. You can connect with Support via phone or chat. Thanks!
