Water inside my GoPro5

[ New ]
Hi,
Last week, while swimming with the kids in the pool, I was shooting and filming with my gopro 5.
After some time, I think about 15 minutes the gopro crashed, it was showing 'saving' (if I remember correctly).

After a few minutes, when the screen did not disappear, I decided to remove the battery, unfortunately it turned out that there was water inside.
Eventually my SD card was damaged but the camera is working at the moment (after few days)

Is it possible to check what happened? why water got inside the camera?

My gopro is from 2017 so warranty is no longer an option?

Hi @emperempe

So long as all camera doors are closed, the HERO5 Black is waterproof down to 10m (33ft) without a housing.
Let our Support Team take a look at what happened.
You may reach out to them through https://gopro.com/help/ContactUs

Thanks!

Ej
