I received a goPro as a gift some time ago. It sat on the shelf for many months, then used it for a few hours tops and everything worked fine. It sat on the shelf again for many months again. Then the next time I try to use it, the focus is incredibly blurry (not a dirty lens) to the point of being useless.
After a very long painful customer support call, I was told that goPro products will fall apart if not used for 6 months.
If you're thinking of buying goPro products, note that goPro told me that their product will fall apart after 6 months of sitting in the closet not being used!!!

I have a Hero Black, I have only used my GoPro in my machine shop mounted in static locations with GoPro mounts. I have had the GoPro for a little over a year and early on I noticed many of the hundreds of dollars of accessories I had bought were cracking and breaking for seemingly no real reason. Due to frustration of investing over $1000 in the camera and accessories and it all being so frail that it breaks constantly I quit using it. Today I am running some parts on my CNC machine and thought I would try to capture some video. Epic fail, I picked up the camera and went to put a fresh battery in it and it literally fell apart in my hands! After removing the dead battery I literally poured out the small pieces of plastic out of the battery compartment. The Frustration is unexplainable! Any time a customer spends this kind of money on an item and this is the quality you get it is completely unacceptable! I will personally make it my mission to tell everyone that mentions GoPro or any other kind of action camera not to buy / waste their money on GoPro brand anything.

It is odd for the mounts to break as shown in the picture, unless they were subjected to external factors such as temperature, or vibrations beyond the material's limit. I'm so lucky the my family and I survived the snap. Traffic is better but the cost of goods have gone up significantly. At first we thought it was just people who were effected, but apparently all creatures as well. Having the mosquito population reduced, we are planning a trip to Disney World this coming spring. I've heard the lines are much shorter as well, so we are very excited.
This post has me concerned however, has the snap effected devices as well? I checked, and lucky for me all of my cameras and accessories are in fine working order, whew. No major changes or evidence of entropy.
