I have ONE Hero 7 Black and TWO Hero 7 Whites.
I have a clip (which I can upload if required) that demostrates all THREE cameras shutting off with the word "STOP" (NOT "GoPro Stop Recording")
The word "STOP" was just used in a normal sentence with no emphasis at all.
I recorded the audio separately so you can hear my amazement as the first one camera turns off and then when I stay the word STOP a second time as a comment on the furst shutoff the two other cameras also shut off.
For the set up I'm trying to use the audio commands to do a "Go Pro START Recording" for all three cameras (what a nightmare that is...) as the Go Pro remote control device, which works on up to 50 GoPros apparently doesn't work with the Hero 7 Whites.
Are they any alternatives to this device that will cover off the 2 whites so I can start all three at once?
Even with the "Go Pro Start" voice command I sometimes get a flurry of photos recorded (I can tell by the distinct beep patterns) and I sometimes only get one or two of the cameras turn on. I've checked the settings over and over and over again and they are set to a defult of video. One of the white's will occasionally choose to record timelapse for no apparent reason. Seems to be limited to one thankfully.
The only work-around I seem to have at this stage is to connect to one of the cameras, likely the Black, and use the Go Pro app to kick it off after I've started the other two by voice. That way I can turn OFF the Voice Commands on the Black unit and if the on camera talent uses the word "STOP" and turns off the 2 (white) cameras at least I will still have continous main footage on one camera until I get the other two back on line and recording again (not quite sure how without making a noise or disturbing the cameras of the shoot -- the App is very flakey at multiple camera connections at the best of times).
Could individual commands be deactived? E.g: Can I turn off the "Go Pro Stop command?
Why does it respond to the single word STOP? and not the entire string of "Go Pro Stop Recording"
Any other suggestions for dealing with a SIMPLE way to start three cameras at once while also avoiding accidental stoppage?

Thank you for providing a detailed explanation of the issue.
I did test a couple of HERO7 cameras - (Black/White/Silver), and I was not able to replicate the issue.

I've updated the software and did a full reset and there are still significant issues.
While I can not get it (the Hero 7) to repoond (yet) to STOP in a sentence or by itself nonetheless it does clearly respond to "STOP RECORDING" without the "GoPro" prelude.
That is unlikely to bother us during a shoot.
I say "GoPro Video Mode" to which it will clearly respond nonetheless when I say "GoPro Start Recording" I get a burst mode photo sequence.
I go to the unit itsef and set the default to be video and yet still "GoPro Start Recording" results in a photo burst shot.
I use the App to dial up the settings, which clearly say the defaul is video, and yet when I say "GoPro Start Recording" I still get a photo burst.
I change the Defaults via the App and set them back and still the same behaviour.
"GoPro Capture" seems to work as expected with a video recording starting.
No matter how the recording is started I do get consistent behaviour with "STOP RECORDING" without the GoPro.
I have not yet updated nor tested the two 7 Whites yet however I will do so shortly.
