Video Files are broken

Hello, everybody,
Here's my problem. Today I had the GoPro recorded for about 1 1/2 hours. When I wanted to copy the files on my computer, I saw that the files
1. were divided into 8GB, not as usual into 4GB
2. these files are not playable
3. every second file is only a few MB in size and only 1 second of film is on it


What is the reason for this? Thank you in advance for your help

Sorry to hear about the issue. Do you recall what resolution the camera was in when it recorded the media file? Are you not able to playback any video file at all, even directly from the camera? Is this true for photos as well? Does the camera provide any error message or notification when you attempt playback on it?

 

There are some files that are created by a HERO6 Black camera that may not be playable depending on resolution used, and the computer system settings that you have. These files use HEVC. Are your files in this format? 

 

If you have not done it yet, manually update your camera and reset to camera settings. As for Quik, try uninstalling and re-installing it, making sure that you have the latest version (v 2.6.2). Please see links below for guide.

I am not too sure why it saved it that way. What camera and SD card are you using? 

How are you playing the files? Is it via Quik for Desktop or Media Player? Are you getting any error messages?

If your camera has an LCD screen at the back, kindly test if you're able to play the files directly on the camera.

Hi,
first of all thanks for a quick response. I use the Gopro Hero 6 and the suggested SD card SanDisk Extreme UHS-I 64GB. I tried several media players, as well as via Quik. No error message, it simply does not start. The gopro cannot play the files either.
