Upon updating software - Quik - on PC, micro sd card came up as "no SD card" on Hero5 Session. Why?

The card is a SanDisk 64GB UltraPlus microSDX UHS-1 Card, and the camera is a Hero5 Session.  Following the instructions, I extracted the Update file and placed it in the card on the file tree of the desktop. When inserting the card in the camera, no lights blinked, the camera did not turn off and on, etc. I went ahead to see what the camera might say. It said, "No sd card." Ignoring that, I went into settings as usual and proved that the SD card was in there and photo capable. Question: does this card need to be formatted? It is brand new. Question: how can I tell of the update really had been successful since the camera then worked to take a photo.  Question: when trying to set the mode to video after all this, I could not.  The camera does a do-loop on its own between modified video (TL) and photo only.  It refuses to go to video mode at all.  This is how the camera had behaved with a different micro-sd card that was not on the GoPro list of officially recommended micro-sd cards.  Thank you.

Hi @spirydusk13686,

It may be that SD Card. The SanDisk Ultra is not on the list of recommended SD Cards as it does cause quite a few issues. It may work but you will want to format that SD Card:

After that I would run through the manual update process again:

I would recommend however getting one of the

Thank you, Ryan. I find that you must be correct. I could not update the card I bought. I wil make an exchange to one recommended at the GoPro link you provided me. Again, thank you.
