Under water photos.

How do you take photos under water when you're using el grande/three way or if you're not close to the shutter button?

Re: Under water photos.

hi,

good question.

underwater I usually just video.

and I use a short pole, lately the GoPro The Handler, is floating also...tested... Smiley Happy

I did not use them, only as suggestions:

Maybe the Smart Remote? rated 10m underwater.

Or Remo? 5m rated

hope the ones that really use them to answer here....

Re: Under water photos.

I'm glad to hear the suggestions helped but I'm not too sure if the Smart Remote or Remo will do much good underwater. While they can be exposed to water, the signal isn't going to work well if they are submerged. It might be easier to just set the camera to take time lapse.

Re: Under water photos.

@danielr15...thank you for correcting me! appreciated!

@hazza-b-14   ...I apologize, hope I do not puzzled you too much, I'm sorry

....I said I haven't used them....

I was watching, 10min ago, a SmartRemote video....and the presenter said "not usable in the water"....immediately I made this test, and here is the proof @danielr15 is right

and as soon as I could, I made this response....

camera (hero5) in the water

S8+ in the water also - please look at the wifi (and network) indicators - very weak signal....the mirror monitor on S8 is almost frozen...

so with both in the water, near each other, wifi is almost gone...

unbelievable....

if S8+ is out of water, wifi signal is maximum...so with remote controller (whatever is that...) out of water could work....

I can think at taking photo from the boat, with the el-grande in the water.....

oow.JPG

...maybe a solution could be filming at 4K and saving photos from the footage?...these snapshots have almost a photo quality....yes another aspect, but still....

picture taken gopro5, PT off

snapshot from 4K PT off

photo and snapshot have almost the same size:

....and guys, I really have to go to shopping tomorrow...my fridge is almost empty.... Smiley LOL

Re: Under water photos.

Robert, looks like you're stocked up just fine. Alcohol, eggs, and coffee. What more do you need 🤔😃
