Will the Hero 7 Black record while it is being charged?

Generally GoPro cameras receive power to operate from the external source while recording. Once the recording stops it sends the power to the battery for charging. I don't have a HERO7, so I can't confirm this, but I suspect it will be the same.

I hope that they have kept this design as charging while recording is unfavorable for a couple reasons. First, it causes the battery to get hot, which can then cause the camera to shut down. Second, if the battery is charging from the external source, then that means the camera has to receive it's operating power from the battery, which is self defeating as the battery will then be both charging and depleting it's power simultaneously.

i normally take the internal battery out & power it via the USB-c, otherwise they tend to charge the battery then stop using the external power

must admit i have tried recording with the battery in & power via the USB on the Hero 7, but when you press record the battery meter goes off so you can't see what its doing lol
