Thank you both so much - this has been greatly appreciated

Just FYI also - I have managed to use a program called "MPEG Streamclip" by Square 5 which has worked a dream too - this was recommended by a professional cameraman (however, I am a novice and am only doing simple things!!)

Hello @daviddesa11

Very good question! There are two basic options:

1. Use Quik for Desktop app that you can download for free

2. Manually transfer files from the SD card to your computer through an SD card adapter.

Here is the link to download the app: https://shop.gopro.com/International/softwareandapp/quik-%7C-desktop/Quik-Desktop.html

Please take note that there are system requirements that need to be met in order for Quik to work smoothly.

For more details on how to transfer videos, you can read this article: https://gopro.com/help/articles/how_to/How-to-Import-Using-Quik-for-desktop

Marius

Marius - thx u for advising - will Quik allow me to stitch the “chapters” together? I normally can record only 11 mins or so at the most!! Or will iMovie be better? Thx again for all the advice

Thank you for the considering the recommended steps, @daviddesa11

Yes, Quik will allow you to stitch the chapters. Quik is best for simple video trimming with tools for quick edits and easy sharing; iMovie can give you more options for post-process edits.

Just to clarify,
Quik desktop app will NOT allow you to stitch full complete videos that have been chaptered. https://gopro.com/help/articles/question_answer/GoPro-Camera-File-Chaptering-Information

It will stitch together highlights from the same or separate clips,

If, for example, you filmed for 20 minutes continuously and as a result of chaptering, now have two videos, you will need to stitch them together with an editor like iMovie to have one 20 minute video.
