Touchscreen not working on Hero5 Black.

Can't tap or swipe, can only use Mode button. It's brand new and my first GoPro so i'm probably missing something obvious as the startup video didn't play. What can i do?

Have you guys updated your cameras since unboxing them? It's very important to do this. Go ahead and update the camera's firmware using one of the options listed at the page HERE

 

After you've done this, if you can use the screen, pull from top to bottom and enter into Preferences. Then, scroll down to Factory Reset and select that option. 

 

I think that will take care of the problem for you.

I have the same problem, the screen is still working but it won't react to touch. It only allows me to change the camera mode by using the mode button.

Exactly the same problem - have blank screen with no functionality - although it appears that the back light to teh screen is on and the camera is recording etc as indicated by front screen. Screen worked initially to set time date etc but now nothing

Hi all,

Just letting you know that we installed the new update and the go pro touchscreen is working perfectly fine. We were able to install the update using the Micro SD card.

Tried the update through the SD card - still no joy - returned to retailer and exchanged - seems OK so far - just reading teh advice re heating up and not turning off.
