I have a Hero 4 session that won't pair with the app either on my iPad or iPhone, it used to work fine but last time I had to rest the wifi in order to connect.
Now I can see it through wifi and have removed it by forget network.
I have reinstalled the app.
i have reset the wifi on the camera.
I put the app in pairing mode, go to "select control" on the camera, select app, I get the pairing screen and a 4 digit number, phone or iPad see the camera and I input the digits in the app ok, the next screen pops up immediately with "Lets try that again, there seems to be an issue connecting to your GoPro"
The camera works fine but I want to turn the led off so I can use it covertly.
Any help would be appreciated.

Here are the steps in resetting the camera's Wi-Fi information:
- Turn the camera ON.
- Press the mode button repeatedly on front of the camera until “Set Up” appears on the screen.
- Select the red shutter button on top of the camera.
- Press the mode button repeatedly on front of the camera until “Reset Cam” is highlighted.
- Press the mode button to select “Reset Wi-Fi”
- Press the shutter button to select
- Press the mode button to select “Reset”
- Press the shutter button
Once done, pair the camera again. **You may need to forget the Bluetooth ID.

I seem to have fixed the problem, with the camera off it wasn't showing up in Bluetooth my devices on my iPad so wasn't there to delete, going through the pairing process doesn't take you back to the Bluetooth page but out of desperation I went and looked while they were pairing, it could now be seen and deleted from My devices and when I started again it worked straight away. I hope this helps anybody else this happens to.

I'm have a Hero 5 Session and the connectivity issue using Capture is a real problem. Using the Capture app, it seems to "forget" the camera every few days, showing the "there seems to be a problem connecting" message - always at the most inappropriate time when I need to use the live preview to frame a shot !!
so I have to go through all the stages to get connectivity back
- edit / delete camera from Capture
- forget GoPro wifi on phone
- forget GoPro Bluetooth on phone
- reset wifi on gopro
- Select connect new device on gopro
- select app on gopro
- select GoPro wifi and enter password on phone
- start up Capture on phone and select new device
- accept Bluetooth pairing on phone
this every couple of times of usage - it's ludicrous that it can't maintain a connection more than a couple of times of use without then having to go through all the stages mentioned above.
please @jefft - ask your software engineers to look at this.

Since I had my initial problem I have noticed this pattern, if I let the card get full I cannot access the camera, all the problems of connecting return, take the card out and delete something to free up some space and its fine, turn it on using the power button then turn the wifi on and it works fine.
does anybody else have this issue?

THANK YOU! I'm so glad I found this post. I have been doing a time-lapse video of a construction project in my yard and my Hero4 has worked great all week, until yesterday, when it stopped pairing with my iPhone. I had tried everything I could find online, but nothing worked until I found these steps. This has been very frustrating.
I emptied my SD card and still had the problem, so I'm not sure I saw exactly what you are describing.
