I am really sorry if you feel this way. We would like to help you get the camera paired with your phone via the GoPro app.
Kindly complete a manual software update on your camera. This usually corrects any issues on the software or connections.
Once done, proceed with the pairing process. **Ensure that the app is up to date.
If all else fails, please let our Support Team assist you further. You may reach them via phone or chat. https://gopro.com/help/ContactUs

I have been facing this on my Hero4, I am truggling to connect the cam with my app since last three days. have tried the following
Deleted from bluetooth devices from my phone
Deleted the camera from the gopro app
Manually updated the camera firmware
Formated my micro SD card
The support suggested that I change the micro sd card to the one recommended by gopro. But my card (sadisk ultra 32 gb) was working fine earlier.
After multiple re pairing attemps i have given up on this issue. can some PLEASE help!

Were you able to get a confirmation on the camera that the update was successful?
You should be able to pair the camera even without an SD card. Nevertheless, we still recommend using one of the recommended SD cards.
When the camera is on pairing mode, does your phone pick up the Wi-Fi name at least(check phones Wi-Fi connection settings)?
Are you getting an error message?
You can also try uninstalling and reinstalling the app. Then proceed with the pairing process again.

I had this problem before and it's really frustrating. You may have gone through this process before but it has worked for me. It seems to be important to follow the exact sequence. Anyway, give it a try .....
- edit / delete camera from Capture app on phone
- forget GoPro wifi on phone
- forget GoPro Bluetooth on phone
- reset wifi on gopro Session menu
- Select connect new device on gopro menu
- select app on gopro menu
- select GoPro wifi on the phone and enter the Gopro wifi password ( you will see this on the gopro) on phone
- start up Capture on phone and select "new device"
- accept Bluetooth pairing on phone
Hope this helps

You can try resetting your HERO Session camera's Wi-Fi name and password by pressing and holding the back button (info/Wi-Fi button) while the camera is off. Wait for about 8 seconds or until the screen displays the question as to whether you would like to reset WI-Fi. Once done, you can pair the camera with your phone again, but as @jcd mentioned, delete the camera first from the GoPro App, and forget the camera from your phone's Wireless and Bluetooth settings.
If you will be asked of a default password, you can use goprohero
I hope this helps. Let us know how it goes.
