What do you mean with "screen display shrink"? It's normal for any action camera to get warm. How warm does it get? Are you able to hold it in your hands? The Hero 8 shows a message when its getting too hot, and switches off afterwards.
Did you update the firmware to the latest verion? V2 has been released a few days ago.
