Hi GoPro Team,
I was wondering if the team has any current plans to offer a camera solution for motorsports (car racing). When I heard that the GoPro Hero 5 Black had GPS (18hz), I immediately went out and bought one. I can't speak for all racers out there, but for me, the video and data logging systems are incredibly useful in helping me improve and in putting down faster times.
My question is if GoPro has any plans to implement additional functions to the Hero 5 Black. There are other cameras (mainly the Garmin Virb) on the market that offer a solution to not only record GPS data, but also pair a device, like an OBD2 bluetooth dongle to the camera so that the video footage, gps information, and the data from the OBD2 is not only synced, but is also in an easy to use and easy-to-deploy solution.

Jaguar was able to develop an app that is compatible with GoPro Hero5 that provides overlaid data such as speed, throttle, gear selection, and steering wheel angle to match the footage on their F type 18MY sports cars. I don't know very much about your specific needs, but it does seem that it is possible to merge OBD (at least throttle, gear, steering wheel angle) with the GoPro GPS data and footage. It might be something that at this time you would need to request from the Developer program https://developer.gopro.com/info
