Stabilisation with ND filters [ New ]

Hello, I own a Gopro 9 and the ND filter set (ND8, ND16. ND32). Recently I had two shoots in bright daylight. I used the ND8 and ND16 filter but all my footage turned out shaky/jerky. What caused the issue and how can I avoid it?

Do you have the camera up to date?

What were the settings used?

Do you observe the same on different resolutions?

Thanks for your reply friend. I tried different resolutions, hypersmooth, boost, all the same issue. Latest firmware installed. All videos deleted because they were unusable but this weekend I will do a sample.

You CANNOT get stabilised footage if using ND filters- this is because they reduce the amount of light passing through the lens and hypersmooth always and only works best in broad daylight using no filters at all

The only way round this is to use a gimbal of you must have stabilised footage - there is no other way round it unfortunately

Put your normal GoPro lens on and use hypersmooth when it's dark and you'll know what I mean. The same applies when filters are used due to less light passing through

Agree with above post, ND’s are good for photos but I stopped using them for video as the stabilization breaks down.

Here is my footage on a bike with Polar Pro ND16. I think it cam out pretty good. However I did use it today walking on a chest mount with same ND filter and it was not stable/shaky every time I made a step.
