@siouxsie - Try resetting the Smart Remote. Press and hold the Power/Mode button on the remote for about 8 to 10 seconds. The remote will power off and can then be powered back on if that's what you want to do.

Hi Jeff! I’ve already contacted your chat support last week and they already concluded that the battery is busted. I asked them if they can change it but they said they can’t since the battery is built it. They also can’t replace my smart remote since it’s already out of warranty. It is very unfortunate that you GoPro has no means of replacing busted batteries especially if the remote itself is working properly and the only
problem we’re experiencing is with the battery itself only.
