Hi, I have just purchased a Hero 6 and one of the functions I would use on my old cameras was to set the videos to run in 5 minute recordings.
On the Hero 6 I can only find this in the video looping section but then it appears to turn off image stabilisation.
The issue im having is trying to use the longer videos in quik simply not working properly or at all.
Any help is appreciated.

in the looping mode, the advanced settings menu is disabled, both hero5 and 6.
the only "chance" you have is to rely on camera chaptering...
camera close every 4GB a file.
- to be compatible with FAT file system - max file size is 4GB (microSD card is formated in exFAT system, so could be larger then 4GB...)
- as a precaution, in order not to lose all footage if something is wrong in the file.
the 4GB file in terms of duration depends on resolution, frame per second, codec (h.265 or HEVC h.265), PT on/off, etc....
on 2.7K 25fps is around 12 minutes.
at 50fps roughly the half of the above, etc....
hope helps a little bit,

HI yes that does help but then it creates another issue with the quik app i believe. It doesnt work with the 4gb files from what I can see so the auto edit function that I really wanted to make use of is in fact unusable. :-(
