Sessions is frozen and blue light flashing?

Bought Sessions yesterday.  Linked to App but now camera is not reponding other than blue light.  I have treid holding down the button for 10 seconds but nothing happens.  Also now tried to login to app on phone and it is telling me password invalid for wifi.  Help!

This definitely isn't the way we want to bring you into our products. The Session should not bring disappointment and it appears with the concerns you've shared, it may be doing just that. So, let's see how we can turn this around for you. 

 

The symptoms you've actually described differ slightly from the issues listed above. What your describing might be the microSD card. Here is our list of microSD card considerations: SD Card Recommendations. Check these out and review the minimum requirements for the Session. 

 

If the card checks out and you're still having issues, I'd definitely recommend reformatting your microSD card and attempting your camera once more. I'll provide the instructions below:

 

Reformat MicroSD Card

Reformat using Windows 

Reformat using MAC 

 

** Keep in mind, reformatting the card will erase all content on the card, so make sure to upload your memories before completing the reformat.

Sorry for the trouble you're experiencing with your brand new Session. We don't usually see this kind of behavior from the camera, so let's see if we can turn this around for you. 

 

We appreciate you proactively troubleshooting your camera. Let's try one more attempt and this time, before holding down the shutter button again, try removing the SD card first. Once it is removed, hold the shutter button for 10-13secs. 

 

What happens when you try to use the smaller black button on the back/bottom of the camera? Any change, there? 

 

Let us know how it goes. Has anyone else run into this issue with a solution?

Sorry to hear your having issues @Anonymous.

This might be an issue with the network.

By the way the default password is "goprohero"

And this might be an issue with the phone?

The newer GoPro HERO4 lineup don't just use wifi anymore,

they also use bluetooth. So try turning the bluetooth on, and wifi.

Now if it doesn't find it still, it might be an issue with the phoen or GoPro.

Hi Im brand new to gopro and have a new session. Im having all sorts of problems. Wifi dropping out, camera buttons unresponsive, camera freezing! Video stops recording, doesnt save to sd card, Ive reset the wifi, done whats written above and still having problems.

I've had my session 4 a couple of weeks and encountered the same problem when experimenting with the settings.  Your solution worked perfectly to correct the problem!  Thanks so much!
