Having the same issue except THERE IS a wifi icon on the lef screen.

Bluetooth is connected. No WiFi is generated.

Tried all hte resets. Factory reset twice. Different phones. All the steps mentioned above. Nothing

 have you Shut down your phone let sit for a few seconds, then restart it.?

smartphone will read the wifi of  the gopro..  forgetting the device  for wi-fi is not neccasry.    I shall do again the   app connecting if like stay tuned.

I start over what I am showing maybe these are the steps and  see if  followed gets you back up. if not then its hardware.
