Session 5 overheating and shutting off even after upgrading software and memory card

Gopro Hero 5 Session 30FPS 4K camera over heating and turning itself off. 

I tried updating the software (v2) and upgraded my memory card to the Samsung Pro Plus 128GB MicroSDXC Memory Card (MB-MD128DA/AM). I don't think I've ever actually drained the battery before its shut off due to overheating. I used it in the harness, I've used it standing on its own on a table. I've covered the front with a snap on polorizing filter, I've left the filter off. In all situations the camera has overheated and shut off - it beeps and says 'camera too hot' before shutting off. The only two solutions I've read about are 1) update software 2) update memory card to high performance 

I have two Hero Sessions (standard) that run 60FPS 1080P and run really hot but I don't think I've seen either of them shut down due to overheating and I use them in the same conditions as my Hero 5 Session (literally same conditions, when the 4K camera overheats, I swap it out with the old Hero 1 sessions)

Welcome any other suggestions.

Just to update this thread. I was able to get hold of GoPro support chat, but there wasn't anything they could do to help. 

The Hero 5 Session overheating issue has gone unresolved.

 

**However** since this thread started the Hero 6 Black has launched and I purchased one - I don't believe it has ever overheated on me and the 4K with stabilization is amazing, I'm a big fan of the Hero 6. If anyone is considering a Hero 5 Session for 4K, please consider the Hero 6 instead - the Hero 6 is easier to use (with being able to see what you're filming with the screen), battery lasts 50%-100% longer ~1-1.5hrs (was getting ~45 min with the Hero 5 Session) and the image stabilization on the 4K makes a night and day difference over the Hero 5 Session.

Forgot to add I tried reformatting the memory card with EXFAT recommended for higher performance/sized memory cards

Thanks Ryan. Is there an optimum time to call? I called at ~5:15PM PT today and waited on hold for 1hr 33m before giving/hanging up (no one answered, just listened to the recording on repeat). I'm happy to try to call when you recommend or try the online chat, I just tried calling today because I thought it would be most direct and there was no warning to say "expected call time is > 1.5hrs" to indicate a reason not to continue holding.

Perhaps there was a bug in the automated call handling, I noticed the call continued (on hold message) past the 6PM close time, I tried calling from another number after 6PM and received the 'sorry we're closed, call back during our business hours' message, I stayed on another half hour in case they just needed time clearing the queue from folks who called in before the 6PM close. I'm assuming they were either really swamped or there may have been a bug in the support call system. Regardless, today I see there's an update for the Hero Session 5 available, I'll give that a shot and see if that resolves the issue. If not, will try back again.

Not sure what to do now. Every time I check for the chat I'm instantly met with "Sorry, all agents are helping other customers right now. Please try again later."
