Session 5 issues.

Above camera, has random events. Start to record video, decides to take loads of pictures, not always, but about half the time. Take a video, sometimes records the video 180 degrees rotated, Ie, upside down! No the camera wasn't rotated. Voice commands are very "hit and miss" ask gopro to turn off, gopro changes to camera mode.
Any help would be great.
Latest version firmware installed with all the above happening.

The camera can go into a continuous photo mode if the shutter button is held down for a few seconds. That sounds like what may be happening here. For video, press it briefly, and wait for the recording to start.
For flipped video, it's likely the camera thought it was upside down when it started recording. If it does occur, you can flip the video in our editing programs.
Thanks,
Jeff

Volce command is not perfected
Start recording say just hte words start recording gopro will start, stop, say stop recording gopro will start and stop, the words start & stop are one sylibol words that gopro only picks up on. day one, never corrected with firmware, at the moment no fixes at all.
that is just one example so in my eyes its a helpful tool but needs to be corected A.S.A.P.
For rotation is Auto rotation on or off, and are you tilting enough to trigger the sensor?

I'd bet a factory reset will help here:
RESTORING FACTORY SETTINGS
Follow the steps below to reset all settings and the camera’s password. This
option is useful if you are reselling your camera and want to remove
all customization.
1. With your camera off, press the Menu button to turn on the
status screen.
2. Press the Menu button repeatedly until you get to Exit Menu.
3. Press and hold Shutter button [ ] for 8 seconds.
4. Press the Menu button to move to Yes, then press the Shutter
button to select it.
Let me know if it does!

if it does not work after you reset it..
return / rma it...
had all the same problems as mentioned,,
freezing, batt drain , warm unit, intermittent on/off issues .. on my session 5, serial number c321132xxx
went thru the webchat troubleshoot, and got it rma,
a new unit was send out , serial number 321133xxxx
it a whole new experience,, stable , dependent ..like my gopro session4.
no more freezing, intermittent on off, batt / drain ..
guys, it a hardware fault, those having these issue, do yourself a favor and get it replaced.
gopro , you guys should do a recall , on the earlier models... it's clearly a hardware issue .
