Session 5 and timelapse - camera shuts off even on external power

[ New ]

I love the quality of the TimeLapse from the Session 5. I purchased the camera specifically to shoot TimeLapse. I shoot most from indoors so have the camera plugged into external power.  The camera never runs for more than a few hours before shutting down. No rhyme or reason to it.  It's recorded for 6 hours. It's recorded for 9 hours. It's recorded for 4 hours.  It randomly shuts off. Typically I shoot one frame every 5 seconds or one frame every 10 seconds. Ideally I'd like to shoot for a full week. I have no problem doing this with cheap generic sports cameras.  Why does the GoPro keep shutting down?

Hi @fastmesa71146,

Did you check your settings if you disable sleep or auto shutdown?

It might because of that.

Those options aren't available in Video Timelapse mode. I've looked and checked the manual.

Hi @fastmesa71146,

Not in the timelapse mode but the camera itself.

Please check if you have that option turned on on the camera itself.

You can also try to reinstall the firmware manually.

Please check the manual update steps for session on that page.
