Session 5 Shutter button will not turn off unit.

I have a less than 1 month old Session 5 and all of a sudden the Shutter button no longer
functions. I had the Session mounted in my vehicle for loop recording. Got in the vehicle this
morning and hit the Shutter button and everything was working fine. Reached my destination
and pressed the Shutter button again to turn of the Session just like I have done a least a
hundred times by now, and nothing. The button clicks but the Sesson 5 just stays on. I tried to
hold the button for 10, 20, 30, seconds and even a full minute with no effect. It just sits there
blinking like it is recording. Also the menu button is inop. I can single press the menu button
or hold it down till the cows come home with not effect. It's just sitting here blinking every second
of so. Also the Status screen is blank and no matter what I do, it stays that way.
Soon it will run out of battery.
Any ideas??

Yes, no joy...called GoPro and after speaking with them, they have RMA'ed the unit. I was
also told that GoPro would prefer you didn't use the Session 5 or Hero 5 as a dash cam.
There seems to be a problem with powering the cams via a usb cable whilst it is recording.
Maybe overheating the power supply inside the housing? There is nothing in the manual, that I
could find, mentioning this issue. Not sure if I would have bought this cam if I had know about
this. This must be a real issue, as I was specifically asked if I used the Sesson 5 as a dash
cam. And was I powering it via the usb port whilst recording. Then was told that they recommend
against doing this, but would RMA my unit for me.

Ouch, that sucks man!
I'd let the battery drain, remove the SD card, then charge and see if problem persists.

The Session 5 finally drained the battery down. Now when I plug into the USB cable there is no
response. Usually the red led's light up to show it is charging. Now nothing. I think something
internal has gone bad.
