Scuff marks on the rubber surface. Gopro Hero 7 Black. [ New ]

The round edge of my hero 7 black gets damaged each time I take it out of its case, no matter how careful I am. Its just too tight. 

Firstly, what can I do to fix the already damaged area, and secondly, what happens if the rubber surface of the gopro gets severly damaged?

Any light on the matter will be greatly appreciated.

the metal frame under  it will get marks if hte rubber wears out I already got scuffed and a rip and can not wait for the On/off mode to go next.
