I bought my son a go pro hero white for his birthday, he wants to use it to vlog.
He was complaining the screen dims after 50 seconds and turns off after 1 min, should be an easy fix right?
I have tried the following:
1: Turn screensaver to never
2: Turn power off to never
3: Upgraded to the latested firmware (v2.0)
4: Reset the go pro to factory default and tried all the above again
The issues remains and I'm thinking of taking it back for a refund. I have read a lot online about the go pro's being sensitive to what memory card you have, I have the SanDisk Extreme 32GB which I believe is on the support list.
Can anyone help? I'm really disappointed, the device seems unstable to me.

Thanks for your reply. I had a long session with gropro support yesterday and this is correct, I didn't realise before I bought it. I hope they will release firmware one day that allows the option to keep the screen on when recording :(
