Hello @captaincory,
The sound comes from the vibration produced when moving the mount. It could also be due to the mics likely picking up the sounds of the camera hitting the edges of the housing or the frame. There may be some cushioning you can insert into the housing to minimize the noise and to also make sure that the Shorty legs/parts do not rub or move or slide. One Hub member suggested using anti-fog inserts in between the camera and case, and/or in between movable Shorty parts. I hope this helps.
