IMHO: GoPro Hero 7 Black for me:
I have did the Trade up with an upgraded 60mb write card from GoPro.com the Start of the return process expires five days from the date you call . you may be entitled to call until the last day. I chose to go this path for a few good reasons.
1 TimeWarp simply locked the camera up a 1 minute press and release refused to reboot the camera.
2. wireless connection lost camera Only no power, no ProMic adapter, no cable.
3. battery crash a few times.
4. and other small issues, like the bat door not 100% spot on
These were just some of hte main concerns for me. SInce I own a Hero 6, a hero 5, a Hero 4 a session and a Session 5. I think I'll wait till the kinks and issues are worked out in the next months to come. I did not lose on the broken camera given in I did win on trialing out the camera if asked and waited, waited and waited.
I feel I am not going to be testing this out and continuing to have issues, I feel my camera is glitchy, faulty, not saying defective. Just not going to be stuck with a Brick.. to you it may sound Harsh, to me is my wise choice I made. I will give it two more days before returning.
I say ask questions, sleep on it, ask a few more questions and then sit down and make a decision. We all jumped in fast. most camera reviews I see were very positive but yet to even pass issue but one or two, I just hope those selling points
Are what you want and works.. I do not have Hotspot and that I wish was data by the phone. On that noe

A comment on the battery door fit.
Directly compoaring my 7 to my 6...the change in the speaker port at the bottom...with the little holes....well that piece or panel is also different than on the 6. This panel and the battery door form most of the bottom off the camera. On the 6, the speaker panel is angled differently from to rear relative to the door.
Seems to emphacize panel to panel fit appearance (not necessarily function) differences.
I think the 7's door itself works fine as far as sealing goes. And I like the firmer effort compare to the 6 as my sample has the battery door open possibly too easily. Seems like you could crack it open by accident, although I have not had that experience that I can recall.

Tried out iOS connection to H7B, fine. Tried connection to my still healthy "dumb" remote, fine.
Yet again I've gotten one of those "ringers" GoPro sneaks out randomly, it works.

I sat down and made my Decision. and happy with the choice I made. I am not saying you should be returning yours. I ask myself do I need another one. honestly no. but do I need to be updated, not at teh moment.

Thinking about this more...why return it? You saved 100 on the trade, got a larger memory card (64 vs 32) and cannot get back the camera you turned into them. So...why not sell it as a review model or something? Could possibly get usefully more return?
Because it is faulty and I rather do what is right, the broken camera Isent in had no value at all. the sd card gopro gave is a 60 mb write speed I use 90 plus write speed.
I hear ya.
Put on ebay for $300.00 free card. and pay fees to Ebay and PP and come out 200 plus, no thank you.
