Hi I have a go pro 3+. I haven’t used my go pro in a while and have a username in WiFi but can’t remember the password. Is there anyway to reset it

Re: Resetting WiFi password

Delete the app from your phone, restart and then install the app again.

Remove the battery and SD card from the camera.
Press on the top shutter button.
Keep pressing down on the shutter while you insert the battery and then press the front Mode/Power button
Release the Shutter once the camera has completed powering on
Power off the camera

Make sure you are using a SD card from this list https://gopro.com/help/articles/block/microSD-Card-Considerations

Go to the Update page and choose your HERO3+ camera. https://gopro.com/update
On the update page click "Update your camera manually" below "Other Ways to Update" to begin.
Enter your Serial Number and other requested information, click Next Step.
On the next page, select 'Wi-Fi Update Only' with the blue check mark and click "Next Step."
On the next page, enter your new camera name and password.
Click "Download Update."
Click "Click here to download firmware."
Once downloaded, Extract (unzip) the UPDATE.zip file. You will get a folder named UPDATE with files inside. Save this to your computer.

Using a USB/SD adapter, insert your SD card into the computer. Use this tool to do a complete OVERWRITE of your SD card https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter/

Once the format is complete, copy the UPDATE folder (not UPDATE.zip) to the blank SD card

Eject the card and insert into your camera. Power on the camera using the side Mode/Power button and let the update run.

Open the GoPro App:
From the home page, tap the icon in the top left corner.
Tap on "Add A Camera" (iOS), "Camera" (Android)
Tap "HERO3+ / 3 / 2."
Pick up your camera:
Press the Wi-Fi button on the left of the camera as the lens is facing you.
Press the Wi-Fi button again and look at the camera's LCD screen to see the Wi-Fi option. Now press the Shutter button.
Press the camera's front Power button to highlight "GoPro App", and then press the Shutter button to select it. You will see a blinking blue light indicating that Wi-Fi is On.
Note – if you don’t see “GoPro App” in the camera menu along with “Wi-Fi RC”, you need to update your camera’s software before you can pair to the GoPro App. Update your HERO3 software here: https://gopro.com/update.
Go back to the GoPro App:
On your device, tap "Continue."
Go to "Settings" and then "Wi-Fi" to connect to the camera's Wi-Fi network. Find the name of your camera listed in your available Wi-Fi networks. If you've never changed the camera name or Wi-Fi password the default password should be "goprohero".
Once connected to your camera’s Wi-Fi network, go back to the GoPro App and you should be all set!
You will be prompted to create a new camera name and password and click "Apply Settings."
iOS users: Go back to Settings > Wi-Fi on your phone and select your new camera name, enter the password, then return to the app.

If you continue to have issues, try the above, but first just download and install the firmware update. Once done, repeat by downloading the Wi-Fi update.

Lastly, if that doesn't work, try with another card from the list.

Re: Resetting WiFi password

you'll probably need to feflash the firmware and the wifi package.  Make sure your GoPro is registered and you can find the firmware links under your profile settings.

Re: Resetting WiFi password

I have the same problem, I haven't used my gopro in a while and I downloaded the app and tried to connect my camera but I forget the password and there is no option to reset it. I don't understand your answer could you please explain it in a way that non-tech nerds would be able to understand. Thanks!

Re: Resetting WiFi password

The link to the webpage for hero 3+ redirects to a download link to the app... Not really helpful isn't it...
Too bad I can't do the update without a laptop/computer...
