Regarding the SD card error and loss of data

I bought my GoPro HERO 5 Black 2 months before and I had the opportunity to shoot some great photos and action videos. But even though I updated my GoPro camera, It often showed SD card error message while shooting and I need to take out my SD card and put it back in the camera again. I checked the website and it said that update would correct it. But I feel still the problem is persistent even after the update. So, Is there any fault with my GoPro camera?. Bcoz I checked the SD card and It was working good. And after my trip, I transferred my photos to GoPro app and by mistake, the SD card was formatted due to touch and after formatting, some photos and videos were taken with the same SD card. I was confident about the photos and videos in the GoPro app but later I found that even those data were gone after a couple of days. Is there any possible way to retrieve those dates from the app. Is there any possible upgrades for the cameras from GoPro HERO 5 Black to HERO 6?. Kindly help me out in the above-mentioned issues.

What SD Card are you using? In addition there is no way to upgrade cameras even if there is an issue with the current camera. If a camera does need to be replaced under warranty it can only be replaced with the same model of camera.

 

As for Data recovery I would recommend reaching out to the SD Card manufacture directly as they might have a solution for getting that content back. Some of the other users here may have some recommendations as well.

What SD card was in your GoPro HERO 5 Black?
Firstly, I suggest you try another good SD card to determine whether your sd card has got a problem. If there is a problem with the sd card, just replace the sd card. If your GoPro camera get a problem, I'm afraid you need to look for help from GoPro manufacturers.
Secondly, if you want to recover lost precious pictures and video files, you can find professional picture recovery software on the web.
Finally, it is recommended to timely backup important pictures and video files to your computer's hard drive. This is because that the SD card is very vulnerable to be damaged, especially when performing outdoor sports.
