Recording in Stereo

Hi

I have a GoPro Hero5 Black and just bought the mic adapter. If I get a stereo mic, will it record in stereo? If so, is there any recommendation on mic?

Thank you

Re: Recording in Stereo

@Anonymous - Yes, the mic adapter for the HERO5 should record in stereo if the input is recorded in stereo. Our adapter is at https://shop.gopro.com/accessories-2/pro-3.5mm-mic-adapter/AAMIC-001.html.

We have some info on recommended mics here: https://gopro.com/help/articles/Question_Answer/External-Microphone-Recommendations. Personally, I use the Rode VideoMicro and have had great results with it.

@megacreek84532 - I use that mic adapter and a Rode mic and it works great and easy to carry and setup.

Re: Recording in Stereo

I use a Rode VideoMicro, but it requires a housing that has a horse shoe mount on top. Don't bother with putting the mic on the side as it will capture your dead cat if you're using one.
