when you say won't record for longer than, do you mean the GoPro is then turning off, or the files you watch are only 5.30 long?
because GoPro's use the Fat32 file format, which means the video is chaptered once the file gets to 4gb. It then starts again on the next file, they do link up seamlessly
or if your GoPro is turning off I suggest your SD card isn't upto spec & not writing the file fast enough
