RAW images.

Hi,

I have a Gopro Hero 5 Black. Im new to Gopro. I use alot of camera equiptment though. I always shoot still images in RAW.

I know my Gopro has RAW capabilities, i have activated it. I am aware that RAw will not work unless in Wide view. I also have Pro tune turned off (i have tried with it on also).

My issue is that everytime i take a pic the only file recorded on the SD card is a .JPG file. absolutley no sign of a RAW file anywhere. Ive tried by plugging the Gopro into quick with no joy, i have also tried by removing the SD card and putting that directly into my laptop.

I am at a complete loss as to why the RAW file will not show up or even record on the SD card.

Please any help would be fantastic.

Re: RAW images.

Hello @foggyoasis62173

How do you check for the files on your computer? You will not be able to see the RAW files if you have the camera connected directly to the computer. You will need to offload files to a computer using a card reader and your computer’s file explorer. To do this, connect the card reader to the computer, then insert the microSD card. You can then transfer files to your computer or delete selected files on your card. The RAW files then will be identified with the .gpr format.

Please check again and let us know how it goes.

Thanks,
Marius

Re: RAW images.

Foggy,  I was having same problem.   (I'm working with windows 10 on a pc) Not the best solution, but I connected the camera via USB,opened file explorer, opened the Hero5.   They are .gpr files.

I am using lightroom CC.  They imported and converted to .DNG, no problem.  And look great.

Wasn't sure if you had tried this or not.  I'm not having any luck with GoPro's app, or with Quick.  They seem to be .jpg only.

Hope this helps.
