It's nice that your cards are brand new, but when you put a brand new card into your fusion, did you format the cards in the camera?  Card makers make SD cards that work in multiple devices from tablets, to PC's, Camera's, Phones etc.  All of these devices use their own types of file formats, files block sizes etc.  The card manufacturer has no way of knowing what device the card will be inserted into, so therefore your card will be always need to be formatted in the device it's going to be used in before you use it.  Failing to do so could result in file errors, missing files, etc.

 

You should try using GoPro Fusion Studio 1.4 as it's much more reliable when it comes to importing files (I've found).  Otherwise I found that with GoPro Fusion Studio 1.3, if there's just one file missing or corrupt, it will fail to import all subsequent files.  And it will be more helpful to stop referring to it as an "app" as people may think you're referring to your phone app.  Not your fault, I blame Microsoft marketing soley for that one.  

 

Keep your RTX drivers up to date also, the folks at Nvidia update their drivers once a month and someone may be working on a way to improve detection go GoPro Fusion Studio for use.

 

When you stitch your footage in GoPro Fusion Studio, you've given a couple of options for the Render (Facebook, youtube, 4k or something like that).  However if you click on the file once it's in the render queue (before you start to render) you'll see the exact method of rendering and which codec and resolution you can use.  So from there you can select the CineForm codec if needs be.  I always render at the highest resolution possible and using the CineForm codec.  But be warned, this will take quite some time.

 

If you're still unhappy with your camera, by all means ask for your money back.  Shooting and editing in 360 requires technical knowledge, patience and skill.  It's also time consuming and you need need to be able to dedicate time and resources to get the best results possible. If you're finding it to be more work than fun, then it's probably not for you, and lets face it, creating video and photo's should be fun.

 

I would rethink your vow to never buy from GoPro again though, they make great camera's and thousands of people have had nothing but good experiences with them.  I would suggest that before you purchase another camera though, you do your research, see what's required to get the best out of it, and not only watch some youtube tutorials, but actually understand them too. 

 

I for one am excited to see what their next generation of 360 camera's will bring as shooting in 360 is now my favorite way to film.  The results look amazing, the abilty to reframe a shot in post production gives you so many options with your end footage, it can do the work of a multiple camera set up and for me it's just so much fun to use and play with.

Cineform 422 is an option for the output file, like h.264.
There is no Nvidia RTX1080. That GPU doesn't exist. There is a RTX2080...

Honestly, I think you need to do a little searching and reading through the GoPro Support articles, as well as reading the camera manual.

I have many SD cards of different makes and models. I only use recommended SD cards in my GoPro cameras, which rules out most that you mentioned.

I have SanDisk cards for a couple of reasons. The first being that these were the first cards I started using back in 2010 when the HD HERO came out. Since I own every GoPro Black, Silver, Session, and Fusion and use these cameras often, I have accumulated a lot of SD cards over the years (including also this used for storage, phones, and cameras other than GoPro).

Another reason is so that I can help troubleshoot members issues here. When HERO5 came out there were many people complaining about issues. A common theme was that they were using SanDisk cards. I purchased one and sure enough, I started having similar issues. This experience allowed me to identify issues that were more likely from the card vs those caused by manufacturer defect. When HERO5 came out, SanDisk released the v30 cards and I heard positive experiences, so I tried then out. That year SanDisk released some really good cards and I still use them today. It changed my mind about SanDisk until last year when once again I started hearing more complaints and then experienced it myself.

There is no contradiction in what I wrote.

I already know I'm getting the GoPro Max. GoPro has yet to let me down for going on 10 years now. I'm hoping the new accessory frame works with HERO6 & 7 so I can get this as well. If I could afford it, is also be planning on getting the HERO8 but honestly, HERO7 Black is still amazing me with it's quality and stabilization. I just don't feel the need to upgrade yet. We'll have to see what features it brings. I've asked GoPro to temporarily lend me cameras just so I can learn them to help out here, but unfortunately this isn't something they're willing to do. In a way it makes sense, I always end up buying them anyway. They are a business and not a charity after all.

If the Max 360 offers in camera stitching, it's on my wishlist for sure.  I love my Fusions to bits, but anything to speed up the workflow is greatly welcome.   

 

I've been trying to come up with some "60 second tips" for GoPro, it's a new thing I'm trying.  Tech tips for people with short attention spans.....Who knows, maybe with enough viewers in a year or two, I may finally score a pre-release to help people use their camera's.  If you ever do something similar, let me know, I'll happily cross promote, you know you're stuff, you're a good resource and you have the patience of a saint.  Smiley Wink

 

Yup, I saw that image of the GoPro Hero 8 and thought "that's got to be an accessory frame of some sort",  To me, it looks kinda like a concept design than a finished product.  So wondering if that image is actually accurate.  I'm thinking that whole frame idea may be a Vlogger "add on/edition" and not actually come with the camera as standard.

 

I'll be getting the 8, I have a habit of only getting every 2nd model for some reason.  I use the GP6 for flight video's and the stabilization works great considering the amount of vibration they have to put up with.  So need another camera with stabilization for sure.  May as well be the 8!

Thanks guys! I sorted it with Your help on here,

 

I now have 256 files located and identified by the Fusion, When I bought it from John Lewis (Retailer in UK) I went onto the Gopro site and it was showing the Studio to DL, So I did not think it was the old version because you wouldn't think it was old? And that was the issue for me!

 

Thanks to Irishman making me aware that there is a newer version of the Studio (I had 1.3 and the new one is 1.4) I just installed it (240Meg) and I was shocked at the difference in the older one and this new un...Straight away as soon as I plugged in my Fusion it recognised EVERYTHING!

 

So a MASSIVE thanks to you guys for helping me!! I cant thank you enough for your time, your explanations. I can now start putting the video together for my channel to show the thousands of subs I have on my Channel...If you are ever in Lincolnshire let me know I owe you guys a pint!!
