Customer support couldn't add my camera to their account either. My camera serial starts with DE (I think for Germany where I bought it - although CS knew nothing about this) Changed this to "HD" and added ok. Maybe something similar will work for you.

I am sorry for any troubles caused. We have raised this concern to the team in charge. I'll be posting back on this thread as soon as we hear from them.
Please note that you should still be able to use the camera without registering the serial number online.
