I just tested Hero 7 and Hero 4 with my Smart Remote and it works but not 100% :( In my case the Hero 7 refused to turn off once, also refused to start recording on one occation. Other then that it worked fine on my multiple attemps to power on/off and start/stop recording. Recorded a 3 minutes video and once uploaded to YT I will post the link to view my experiment :)

I played with hero cameras and smart romote a bit more and my conclution is that it works very good. Once I moved both cameras away from my desk, to another corner of my office, away from my monitors and computers, both cameras worked 100%. I quess interference from another electronic devices were main reason my initial experiment didn't work well.

OK so I'm updating you with my latest real-world test. To summarize, the remote didn't work well. It was able to see both gopro 7s (no other cameras connected to it) and start them recording. However after 5 minutes of recording the smart remote changed to '0 cams' and never went back.
The good news is that the cameras did continue to record.
My configuration: two GoPro 7s side by side (for 3d recording), with external power supplied, with the battery installed. The good news out of this test is that the external power supply, usb C cable worked perfectly - no recording or other glitches beyond this smart remote issue. The smart remote DEFINITELY still needs work

After the 1.70 firmware upate I've tested again. Same scenario, 2 Gopro 7 Blacks to one smart remote (the one with 3 buttons, not 2). Same behavior - the remote doesn't reliably stay connected to both cameras - you can watch it go through 1,2,0 in various permutations, about every 10 seconds it changes. After about an hour of testing (cameras are not plugged in this time) I can say that the 1,2,0 continues but it DOES eventually get back to seeing both cameras. Under 1.61 it appeared to get to 0 cameras and stop - is this progress?

It is progress, @rockydusk33184. But tit would be best for the Smart remote to consistently show connection with the cameras paired to it. Another Check-in on the smart remote. So I have to say it is working well enough that I can start to rely on the remote. I have to H7B and and H4B on the remote and when the remote says '3 cam' I can reliably control all three cameras. I will say that the remote does tend to jump around on what's active, but being patient for 15-20 sec usually gets me back to '3 cam' and I can do what I need to. I've been out 8 times with the remote and had it and the cameras powered up for over 5 hours (external power works great to the H7B and H4B) and the remote has worked consistently each time out.
