- Remove the battery and wait 10 to 15 seconds
- Remove the SD card
- Re-insert the SD card
- Re-insert the battery
-
Power on your camera using the side button and take a 10 second test video
Your camera and SD card should work if you follow these steps. If the issue persists, please contact GoPro Customer Support at https://gopro.com/help.

Very True @fishycomics.
But GoPro Already Does Have Recommendations On The Website:
https://shop.gopro.com/mounts-accessories#prefn1=gp_itemType&prefv1=SD%20Cards
But, some people seem to stick with what they think will work.

Personally, I have no problems with any card tested (even 12 year 2GB Kingston 12/22 MBps crap works fine), so i don't know what symptoms of noncompatiblity/problems are.
But i am curious, why the problem of the SD card functionality is so prevalent in Hero 5 cameras? Does the camera (more strict ) card benchmarking? I have not encountered any noncompatiblity with cards in my electronics (including GoPro) at all ever.

@rikim4 - The HERO5 uses our next generation of firmware and hardware. It's putting a lot of data on the SD card in a relatively short amount of time. Most of the issues were resolved with a firmware update (1.57) we did a month or so ago, and is hopefully even better with our latest update (2.0).
