I'm really hoping this comes back in a firmware update. It was a fantastic mode to shoot in, especially for hikes etc where you want a larger linear frame to adjust later (perfect floor to sky ratio) that you just can't get with 16:9.
I have opened up a feedback dialogue on the site anyway which should help. If this is something that affects anyone else then please let GoPro know. There is strength in numbers!

I've notified a moderator re the Daniel-stalker-harasser on this thread.
I'd like to know if this is a GoPro employee or in any way affiliated.
I also notified the moderator about the similar behaving Fish / Fishycomics here. He is active on goproforums.com which he seems to run. Is that owned or controlled by GoPro in any way?
See...if you get stalked and harassed here, the same thing can happen there, even if you are not hassled here. As in revenge can be taken off site. Surely this is not right? If this is okay just know that it really crushes the fun of these cameras and harms GoPro.
Hope this is clear.
Enough with these thug-like characters.
Deduct ALL hi fives from them at the least.

I think a nice feature (that would be easy to understand by most users) would be the option to choose 2-axis (vertical stabilization like in the Hero5) or three axis (vertical plus horizontal stabilization like in the Hero6). I don't know how feasible this is, since it's EIS and not OIS, but hopefully they can incorporate an option like this in future updates. It would really help for scenarios like you mentioned (turning when bike riding) and to address some people's noted issue when panning the camera for scenic shots.

Interesting assessment. I've noticed that you seem to enjoy helping other members with their questions and offering opinion and advice. I think that this is great and hope that you will continue to do so. I am very passionate about GoPro, both using the products and with assisting other, something you seem to share. I would like to offer some clarification as well as receive your input on a few things you wrote.
First, to be clear, I am in no way employed or affiliated with GoPro. To the best of my knowledge, neither is goproforums.com or it's moderators/members.
I am interested in understanding where in this thread you feel that I was "stalking" as my comments where first, providing information to the OP's question, second, offering my opinion, and then finally responding to @quickhero77554 rebuttal and insults against me and my opinion. I do find it interesting that while @quickhero77554 made comments such as me, " happily sniff and lick a GoPro after it's been up Nick Woodman's..." you have somehow inferred that I am instigating, insulting or harassing. I welcome constructive criticism, so please be specific as to where you felt I stepped over the line. Perhaps it was when I quoted @quickhero77554 back to him from when he said that my opinion regarding stabilization being, "ridiculous"?
To address your belief that I am somehow "Stalking" I can only say that this is in no way true. I do not look up any specific users to find their post, just so that I can rebuke them. Never have, never will.
You can ponder my involvement on this forum and as @quickhero77554 stated, think that I, " have nothing better to do than sit on these forums replying to every post that comes up. You must be fun at parties, yawn." but I really don't feel that it is for either of you to judge. However, if you want to consider my opinion and efforts to assist other GoPro members as worthless, you are certainly entitled to your opinion.
As far as Hi-Fives are concerned, I really don't pay much attention to them, but they are a nice reflection of the number of people who have appreciated my help or comment. These are not something I can give to myself or that are handed out by GoPro, but rather just ways for people to show appreciation. I have acquired these, despite your feelings otherwise, because people have seen value in my input (you may have even noticed me "Hi-Fiving" your comments, including on this thread). Strange that you think GoPro should somehow, "Deduct ALL hi fives" because you, for some reason, disagree with me or my assistance to others.
I look forward to receiving your response and advice. If you can reply as a private message it would be great as I don't want to distract from the original post any further (I only post this publicly to address some of your assertions so that others might not get the wrong impression of my involvement).
And for you, @quickhero77554, again I will state, "I appreciate your constructive input and insights and certainly you have provided useful information to other users here, but sadly you want to negate the credit you've acquired with comments like those above.". Just because you might not agree with me, it doesn't validate you insulting or degrading me. Again I'll say, "Get over your insensate anger and knee jerk responsiveness to always want to take what I post, as my opinion, as some affront to you and your opinion.". I'm really not that interested in you personally; however, I'm not going to stop expressing my opinion or cease to participate on this forum, just because you don't like it, disagree with me, or feel that I'm, "usually not even helpful".
Lastly, in regards to @fishycomics, I may not always agree with him and you may not appreciate his input, but he is entitled to his opinion, thoughts, and contribution just as much as you are. There have certainly been times when FISH and I bumped heads in a discussion, but he does have extensive knowledge of GoPro cameras and has helped a considerable amount of people here. Everyone has their own style, and for some, one style works better than others. Those Hi-Fives that he has accumulated were earned from members showing appreciation for his contribution. You should, if nothing else, respect that.

Looks like this discussion has gotten off topic, so we're locking it. If you have additional questions or thoughts about the video modes on the HERO7 Black, please start a new converation. Thanks.
