first i would like to explain the problem im experiencing with the gopro 5 black.
I bought the camera in november 2016 during a militairy excercise.
I never used it untill a month ago. This is when i found out the sound is not recorded.
Tried several options like reset, update, change SD. Nothing worked!
My last option was contacting gopro through mail support.
Explained my situation and they told me to send back the gopro.
This is where the next problem comes, i can't find the receipt. Ofcourse i know this is my own fault,
support tells me they can't help me. Is there anything i can to get this problem solved?
The problem is a malfunction in the gopro. That i can't get repaired because i have no receipt?
any idea's or thoughts welcome!!

A couple of things to check. First, are you using one of the recommended SD cards? The list can be found at https://gopro.com/help/articles/Block/microSD-Card-Considerations.
Also, are you unable to hear audio when played back on the camera and on your computer when you've imported the files?

First of all thank u for your response.
I have used several sd cards. Also from friends that have the same gopro and no sound problems. Last week i bought the 3.5mm Mic Adapter with a external mic. The sounds work now. Just not without, which bothers me ofcourse. It seems to be a hardware mallfunction and i did not expect that to hapen with a gopro. Yesterday i traveled back to the store in germany to find out if they can trace back my receipt, i've been told they can only find back for 3 months.
What are my options because i have tried so many and also spend a lot of money for solutions...

I have had contact with Wilfried R from GoPro Support before. Explained him the same and he told me there is nothing gopro can do for me without a receipt...
Do u suggest to reach out again on the link provided above?
@fishycomics, tried both. Also tried all possible settings. Also copied settings from other working gopro's. My best guess is defect hardware from the moment i bought the camera.

I delat with Horizon hobby. I bought a expensive radio for rc airplanes, and it gave out, I contacted via the phone, and talked to SPectrum, ivision of Horizon Hobby. and told kindly my story, how i lost the reciept, and long story short repaired my product, with a brand new radio. If GoPro refuses to do so then you are going t ohave to dig up reciept. I getto the store you dealt with and sit down with the manager, and tell them your story, they may simply take the camera back and send it in themselves and may neverknow but its wort ha shot, never give up. keep the site posted/
